Concert pianist / Conductor
Brian Stanborough's musical career as Concert Pianist and Conductor scans more than four decades. Following his concert debut at the age of eight, his career proper took off just two years later. Living and having worked in London for many years, where he enjoyed a most remarkable and brilliant career, he was engaged by Le Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux for a Season as Assistant Conductor. The Director of the Bordeaux Opera launched and promoted Stanborough's Concert and Conducting Career in Paris and the provincial Cities, Radio France,French Television and the principal French Festivals.
Sharing his time between London and France, Brian Stanborough is currently Resident Conductor and Artistic Director of the Bordeaux International Choir and continues his frequent busy schedules of Concerts and Master Classes in Europe,America and Australia.
Brian Stanborough has been appointed Artistic Director for the Festival in CRETE in the 2006.
Australian and International award winning virtuoso concert pianist and conductor, Brian Stanborough, gave his first public concerts at the age of eight and then embarked on a full performing professional career at ten for the Australian Broadcasting Commission and other major Australian Radio Stations.
Furthering his career in Europe, Brian has performed in most London and UK Concert Halls .
Concert tours and Festivals have taken him to many countries....France, Switzerland ,USA, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Greece, Australia, New Caledonia, La Réunion, Singapore and Morocco.
His performance as Solist and Conductor of an all Gershwin Programme with the London Symphony Orchestra at the London Barbican Centre earned him two Musician of the Year Awards.
Conductor, Music Festival Director and Vocal Coach, Brian is an expert in opera, operetta, music theatre, song and lieder.
Throughout a long and illustrious career he has coached and performed with many famous opera singers... Dame Joan Sutherland, Martina Arroyo, June Bronhill, Grace Bumbry, Montserrat Caballe, Lyontine Price, Marilyn Horne, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Sheryl Milnes, Alain Vanzo .....as well as musical theatre stars
Sir Alec Guinness, Rex Harrison, Richard Attenborough, Spike Milligan, Sir Bernard Miles....
Brian has conducted in many French Opera Houses, the Australian Chamber Opera, and Festivals in Greece, Corsica, Sicily and France.
He also conducted Musicals in London's West End Theatres, and performed as featured concert pianist at Royal Galas in London and Windsor, and for many variety shows at the London Palladium and UK Theaters with Artists such as Roy Orbison, Victor Borge, Frankie Vaughan, Frankie Ifield, Frankie Howard , Dick Emery ....
Brian’s busy schedules of Recital tours have taken him through France and the UK, Australia , Morocco and recently he was invited for a 25th Anniversary Gala Recital by the Residence La Gracieuse of the Emara Group in Lonay Switzerland and also by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Auckland to play a Gala Recital , together with other concerts and Master Classes that he performed and presented in New Zealand and Australia.
At present his recitals and classes will take him through France, London and the UK , New York and in 2015/16 further concerts and Master Classes in Australia and New Zealand, Switzerland and Morocco .
